GeoVation Challenge winners’ reactions to winning at camp

Last weekend saw our GeoVation Camp finalists make their final pitches How to encourage active lifestyles in Britain. We had three successful finalists from the GeoVation Challenge, winning a share of £100,000 in innovation funding to develop their ideas. A £1,000 community prize fund, voted by the camp participants was also awarded. They are:

The judging panel also invited two ideas to submit further information so that they can consider whether these should receive funding:

Openplay

Sam Parton, from OpenPlay said: ‘it was a lot of hard work! The competition was tough, but you learn a lot from the process’

 Run An Empire

Aaron Oliver-Taylor, from Run An Empire commented: ‘Being selected as a winner means people support the project and gives us a lot of confidence to make it a reality!

The next stage is for the judging panel to meet again on 26 March 2014 to confirm the winners and the funding to be awarded.
