What is your business/idea?
“Mentat was interested in exploring advanced geospatial learning methods for anomaly detection and forecasting in trajectories. We feel there is a gap in the market in GIS systems where most of the information is snapshot based rather than predictive in nature. With the guidance of the Geovation team we have developed a unique technology suited particularly well to the unmanned drone space.”
What have you found most valuable whilst being on the programme?
“Interacting with Geovation staff and the other startups has been a pleasure and in many cases sparked ideas that we would not have had otherwise.”
What has been the biggest challenge you’ve encountered whilst building your business? And how did you overcome this?
“Commercialization is a challenge. In particular, as funding and resources are needed to get to market viably there is a chicken and egg problem that most early stage companies face.”
Where do you see yourself in a year’s time?
“Having commercialized the geospatial machine learning toolbox and expanding our team.”
