You might be wondering – what is the difference between Geovation and Geovation Scotland?
- Geovation is an Ordnance Survey initiative, in association with HM Land Registry (HMLR), based at Sutton Yard in central London. It is home to a location-based ecosystem that brings the geospatial community together to unlock innovation and growth.
- Geovation Scotland is a partnership between Registers of Scotland and Ordnance Survey, based out of a hub in Edinburgh and supporting companies Scotland wide.
Some of the offerings available to Geovation Community members are:
Accelerator Programme
Geovation run bespoke accelerator programmes in Scotland and London, which offer to Proptech and Geotech technology entrepreneurs looking to accelerate the growth of their businesses a range of support.
This includes mentoring and business coaching around finance forecasting, sales, pitching, marketing and investment. The startups receive supported access from from OS, HMLR and other partners to location and property data and technical development support. In addition, startups are eligible to receive programme funding to help aid growth (up to £15,000 in Scotland, and up to £20,000 in London)
Community Events
Members receive priority access to events hosted by Geovation. Our Edinburgh and London hubs host regular breakfast clubs, partner events and pitch clubs all designed to expand your professional network.
Additionally, hosting hackathons, ideathons, industry workshops, and challenges to keep your skills sharp and help you stay at the cutting edge of Geotech and Proptech tech.
Data Access
As a community member, you’ll receive access to data provided by OS and HMLR through an exploration license. We also have a tech team on hand, who you can book 1:1 tech surgeries with to help you understand what is available and how to best use it.
Geovation Partner Hubs
Members enjoy access to our co-working space in London, as well as partner hubs across the UK, including Cardiff and Bristol.
These hubs offer workspace, meeting rooms, and a collaborative environment across the innovation community.
Online Community
When you join, you gain entry to our exclusive Slack channel, where you can instantly connect with over 2,000 geospatial experts. Whether you need advice, have a technical question, or want to brainstorm ideas, our Slack community has you covered.
Mentorship Programme
Our 1:1 mentorship programme is tailored for both personal and professional growth. Whether you’re seeking strategic guidance, industry insights, or support with specific challenges, our mentors are here to help.
Could you be an Enterprise-in-Residence (EIR)?
Geovation Scotland also have an offering in place to help companies grow. This is designed to
support startups who are too far along to benefit from the accelerator programme, but who need a place to develop.
EIRs can base themselves at Geovation Scotland’s hub in Edinburgh and work alongside other startups and innovators. EIRs enjoy use of meeting rooms and receive priority invitations to community events, where they can make valuable ecosystem connections.
