About
Material Index’s digital platform catalogues materials in buildings, and sells them at their highest value prior to a renovation or demolition.
Material Index is working with some of the largest names in UK real estate and construction: British Land, Shaftesbury, Sir Robert McAlpinea and General Demolition. For their clients they reduce waste costs and carbon, while finding unrealised value in the materials they would typically landfill.
Construction is responsible for over half of UK waste and amazingly, only 2% of materials are currently reused. On MI projects, reuse rates are 20%.
