Feasibly: A New Chapter for Local Energy Systems

Local Energy Systems has rebranded as Feasibly, marking a major shift in scale and ambition. What began as a hands-on consultancy is now evolving into a scalable tech company, building AI tools to accelerate clean energy development. The rebrand reflects both the lessons learned and the ambition ahead — a shift from project-by-project support to transformative infrastructure for net zero.

In this blog, the team — led by founders Beth Holloway and Leo Thomson — reflect on the lessons learned about naming, brand strategy, and long-term growth, and make an open call for their beta trial.

Why We Pivoted

Our startup began as a tech-driven consultancy, working hands-on with renewable energy developers to plan and deploy local energy projects. We spent two years navigating planning processes and grappling with delivering renewable energy projects, and kept running into the same roadblocks:

  • Development timelines were painfully slow.
  • Critical datasets were scattered and inconsistent.
  • Workflows were far too manual to keep pace with climate targets.

From this, we saw how the tools developers use is holding back net zero and realised, if we want rapid decarbonisation, we need to build software that scales to meet the challenge.

What We’re Building

We’re going all in on scalable tech by building the first AI agent for renewable energy developers. With this, we’re completely removing both technical and human limitations by allowing full geospatial analysis with just natural language prompts. By automating critical steps – site identification, constraint analysis, and permitting – we cut months off of development timelines, reducing delays and wasted effort.

Rebranding Taught Us a Lot

The name is what you make it — a strong marketing strategy turns any name into a brand.

We spoke with the best marketers we know and found that the name was really just the start. They universally said we need to build a killer marketing strategy to turn any name into an iconic brand.

Test across cultures and industries — we ruled out names that were hard to pronounce or had unintended meanings.

We constantly found names that have other meanings, are hard to pronounce, or sound like words that already exist. We also tested names with people in the industry to make sure it fits the style of the industry while still capturing our unique specialism.

Say it out loud — we wanted something we love saying, is memorable, and reflective of our specialism.

It should be something easy to say in conversation, that rolls off the tongue well, and that people will remember.

Challenges We Faced

Rebranding isn’t just about a new name — it’s about communicating change while retaining trust. We designed Feasibly to honour the legacy of Local Energy Systems while giving us room to grow. It’s a name that reflects our current work and future ambitions.

Communicating the Change

Our rebrand was an opportunity to clearly communicate our evolution while retaining the trust and credibility we’ve built. The new brand identity is intentionally aligned with the legacy of Local Energy Systems – work we’re really proud of.

Longevity

Startups need to move fast, and we needed a name that would grow with us. We chose Feasibly to reflect our current work but also to build for the long term, accommodating future growth and innovation.
