MaxiMap donated to INTECH Science Museum

On Monday, a team from GeoVation visited INTECH Science Centre and Planetarium to donate a giant floor map from MaxiMap, last year’s GeoVation Challenge winners.

The huge 20 square metre map of Britain is designed as a teaching resource that can be walked and played on with the aim of getting kids excited about geography whilst teaching concepts like scale and distance and the impacts of climate change. Pupils from St Patrick’s School, Southampton tried out map, which will be used by thousands of schoolchildren who visit the centre every year.

Our current GeoVation Challenge How can we improve transport in Britain? is still open, but only until 12 noon on Friday!

So enter now for a chance to win a slice of £150 000 in innovation funding from Ideas in Transit.  Plus up to £10 000 for the best use of OS OpenData.
