Embed an OS Map with OS Open Zoomstack!

Joss Harris

By popular demand, Geovation is on the road again next month to deliver another series of geotech workshops throughout GB. This time, we’re focusing the sessions on OS Open Zoomstack – some awesome new technology that’s been developed by Ordnance Survey to make it easier for you to embed OS Maps into your web, mobile and desktop application!

OS Open Zoomstack

OS Open Zoomstack is a comprehensive vector basemap showing coverage of Great Britain at a national level right down to street level detail. It makes elements of OS open data available as one map in one file to be used for GIS, web, mobile or offline use. It is designed to make OS Maps data customisable as well as more accessible and easier to use in mobile applications. What started as a 3-month trial has now escalated to the recent news that it’s moving towards full production due to its popularity!

Register for your place on our Geovation workshops below – and don’t forget to follow us on Twitter for updates.

The workshops

The sessions will encompass a mixture of presentations and practical exercises. For the practical elements, OS Maps experts will be on hand to provide support. From beginner to more technically advanced, our sessions cater for all levels and, as all software, materials and refreshments are provided. All you need to bring is your own laptop! The workshop materials are all openly available online and, as open source software is used, delegates can work on the materials in their own time after the event, too.

Connect with the Geovation team

Now three years in existence, the Geovation Programme has helped 72 geotech and proptech businesses create 189 new jobs and raise £19.5M in investment funding along the way. The Geovation team will be on hand at each session to share news about recent successes achieved. We’ll also highlight future opportunities open to you through the Geovation Programme as well as answering specific questions you may have about the initiative.

Could YOU be working on the next geotech or proptech idea that could benefit from Geovation support? If so, come along and talk to us at one of the sessions!
