Whilst the Geovation Hub has now gone digital due to the current situation, there are still a range of benefits that our members can enjoy and take advantage of. In this blog, our Hub Manager Nourin Abdal explores these benefits and lets you know how you can sign up to become a Geovation member.
One of our core principles is community engagement and we take pride in providing and organising workshops and seminars on a weekly basis via live-streams or webinars.
Workshops and webinars
Our workshops are there to help our members delve further into their business and help bridge certain gaps or help them overcome difficulties that they may come across. Examples of events that we have hosted and organised range from how to market your product efficiently, providing advice and tips in fundraising and exploring the use of OS data and GIS fundamentals. Our members receive a weekly newsletter informing them of the schedule for the week ahead.
Networking and community
Being around like-minded individuals is a common reason why our members join our community in the first place. Working from your bedroom or coffee shops can be tiresome as well as lonely. Here at Geovation, we recognise this and ensure we host informal networking sessions to allow you to get help and support from your peers as well as industry experts.
It’s always good to have some fun here and there too, so we host some more informal networking activities like our monthly Breakfast Club held on the last Wednesday of every month at 10am and our Lunch Clubs that we host twice a month. Free food and boardgames can always help creativity flow when you’re stuck in a rut. Whilst both are on a temporarily hold physically, we have taken this online through Zoom.
Advice, support and data
The Geovation team is made up of eight experienced software developers who offer weekly surgeries to help answer any technical questions or help you with product design and engineering support. You can find out more about the team here.
One of the many perks of being a Geovation member is getting access to the data products and APIs from Ordnance Survey, HM Land Registry and other public bodies.
Space to launch and grow your business
Finally, other benefits that our members can enjoy is of course the desk space (please see our membership page for the options we offer), booking our event and meeting rooms, free coffee and Wi-Fi. Four essential factors to help you launch your start up.
Whilst the hub is currently closed, members still have access to everything that makes Geovation the best place for geospatial and proptech startups. If you’re not already a member, you can sign up here. This will give you access to our member community, and the full range of exclusive webinars and events, networking opportunities and support offered by the Geovation team.
