Have you heard of Ordnance Survey’s OS Open Zoomstack? Here at Geovation, we regularly host GeoTech workshops throughout GB. At our next stop, we’ll be re-running our popular OS Open Zoomstack workshop at the amazing Eagle Lab in Cambridge on 11 June at 18:00!
4 years since the Barclays Eagle Labs initiative was launched, they now have 23 Eagle Labs open throughout GB. Their national network of labs support individuals and businesses to innovate and grow across a broad range of different sectors with a variety of capabilities. Since opening, their members have raised a combined total of £275 million in funding and their companies (past and present) have created 110 local jobs on site. As we’re also all about open innovation, we have been collaborating with Eagle Labs on a handful of exciting projects. A big thank you to the team for hosting us once again!
OS Open Zoomstack
Ordnance Survey’s OS Open Zoomstack is a comprehensive vector basemap showing coverage of Great Britain at a national level right down to street level detail. It makes elements of OS open data available as one map in one file to be used for GIS, web, mobile or offline use. It is designed to make OS Maps data customisable as well as more accessible and easier to use in mobile applications.
The session will encompass a mixture of presentations and practical exercises. From beginner to more technically advanced, our sessions cater for all levels and, as all software, materials and refreshments are provided, all you need to bring is your own laptop! The workshop materials are all openly available online and, as open source software is used, you can work on the materials in your own time after the event, too.
