Geovation’s Accelerator Programme has been running for 8 years with the support of Ordnance Survey (OS) and HM Land Registry. Our joint offering provides bespoke resources and advice to early-stage founders, to help them grow their businesses.

Along with receiving up to £20K in equity-free funding and the equivalent of over £100k in perks including workshops, coaching and access to data from OS and HM Land Registry, previous startups have shared with us some of the benefits that really made the difference to their time on the programme.

Geovation Tech Team

Past and present cohort members have described access to Geovation’s Tech Team as one of the most valuable aspects of the 6-month accelerator. The Geovation Tech Team are specialists in all things Geospatial and have backgrounds in early-stage ventures. By providing early-stage start-ups with access to this experience, the tech team aims to alleviate the common pit falls regarding product development early-on.

The Tech Team is on hand throughout the duration of the programme to provide expertise and insight into the development process, the launching of MVPs and are a trusted third-party source of constructive and valued feedback.

Ordnance Survey and Land Registry Expertise and Data

Ordnance Survey and Land Registry are the trusted source of geospatial and property information in the United Kingdom. For start-ups developing a product covering conveyancing to anything featuring GI, via the programme you can access this expertise to understand the capabilities of the market and the ‘art of the possible’ with OS and HMLR data.

“The programme so far has been nothing short of amazing. We’ve benefitted enormously from the insightful workshops on the OS and HMLR data as well as on every imaginable challenge a startup will face. But not only that. We’ve also been on one-to-one sessions with outstanding coaches, enjoyed the convenient offices in central London and the free coffee! What else can you ask for?”

Business Support and Induction

The early stage of the programme (Foundation Stage) has been set up to ensure our cohort members understand their market alignment and have validated their propositions. The programme’s onboarding comprising of a rigorous induction period made up of workshops, value proposition sessions, product demonstrations and pitches. Based on the outcomes of these sessions and Geovation’s expertise, start-ups will construct a 6-month flexible roadmap that will be used to structure their goals over the 6 months.

“Joining the Geovation Accelerator Programme has been an enjoyable and eye-opening experience for me. It’s been excellent to meet and work with the dynamic and creative Geovation community in the hub. Everyone is incredibly hopeful, helpful, and energetic.”
Dr Wei Yang, Co-Founder and CEO

Proptech and Geotech Focus

The programme has been set up to cater to proptech and geotech startups. These are OS’s, HMLR’s and Geovation core sectors of expertise. The knowledge gained by working with many other startups over the years provides great insight and exposure for startups in similar sectors.

Funding

The Geovation Accelerator provides successful start-ups with up to £20,000 in equity free funding. Teams have made use of the funding over the 6 month period to develop prototypes, test new propositions, pay for technical support and ensuring a longer runway before their next fundraise.

To gain a place on the Geovation Accelerator programme, start-ups must submit an application. Top scoring applications will be invited to a value proposition and business interview with Geovation, OS and HMLR experts. Last year we received over 150 applications and 9 were invited to our most recent cohort. Gaining access to the funding is highly competitive but can be incredibly useful to teams that make it through the entirety of the application process.

If you’d like to take advantage of all these resources to help you grow your startup, applications to join our next cohort are open now until 4 September. Apply to join our accelerator now!
